Based on some stats for my marketing newsletter, people seem super focused on finding ideas for generating revenue. Money being critical for a business, this makes sense!

But sometimes the quest for revenue can be tied to some very specific needs and timelines.

As a marketer, I’ve definitely been in situations before where someone has come to me and said something like, “Here’s the gap we have in our budget between now and the end of the quarter. We need a marketing plan to make up that revenue. Oh, and you don’t really have any budget to spend.”

Here’s one of the ways I like to approach these situations.

Look at what timeframes you have to work with

Let’s think about revenue in the short, medium, and long term, and how you can move the revenue needle for your business as a marketing professional or owner.

None of the tactics I describe below require additional spending if you have a small customer database or an email list you can work with. If you aren’t collecting customer email addresses, get on that ASAP!

Short-term: Follow data patterns
